Eurovision & Walk the World
Eurovision song contest was held here in Helsinki last night...The whole thing is not too exciting but once it is in Finland, you need to watch. Lordi's performance and the video at the beginning were the most interesting part of the show...I spent the evening at Johanna's and Kassu's place with some other people. Unfortunately our favorite Ukraine didn't win :)...:
Walk the World charity event was organised in Helsinki on Mothers' day. The walk took place in several countries all over the world, to raise money for fighting the children hunger. The timing was not perfect for Finland: mothers' day + Eurovision song contest the previous night meant that not too many people participated at 10am Sunday morning...Yes, it was tough to wake up... But at least some of us, CEMS students, were there!
Maybe the most well-known place in Helsinki. I guess, I'll watch tonight's Finland-Canada hockey final there since there is a huge screen left from Eurovision show. Edit: well, had a three hours' nap and woke two minutes after the game started...didn't go to the Senate Square after all. But Finland lost again, and it was quite clear already in the first period...so didn't miss too much...
